Weight-saving pack heads up exciting list of options ‘firsts’ The 992-generation lineup continues to blossom after Porsche announced the arrival of the 992 Turbo and Turbo Cabriolet. Released four months after the Turbo S, the new Turbo boasts 580hp and a maximum 750Nm torque. The figures for the 992 Turbo match those of the 991.2 Turbo S. The 992 Turbo has the same 3.8-litre 9A2 Evo flat six engine with symmetrical turbochargers as the 992 Turbo S, along with the same footprint, though its brakes are slightly smaller than the PCCBs fitted to the Turbo S. Standard specification on the 992 Turbo includes the 992’s customary Porsche Advanced Cockpit along with 10.9-inch touchscreen, 14-way adjustable Sports seats, Sports Chrono Package, GT Sport steering wheel and BOSE high-end audio.
The 992 Turbo also boasts a healthy options list including, for the first time, Sport suspension, which lowers its ride height by 10mm and also offers additional precision. Likewise, a Sports exhaust is now available as an option, following in the footsteps of the Turbo S, which offers PSE for the very first time on a water-cooled 911 Turbo of any derivative.
Another standout first is the optional Lightweight Design Package, which reduces mass by 30kg on the Coupe. The weight saving is achieved thanks to lightweight full bucket seats, the omission of the rear seats, and the fitting of less insulation, meaning drivers can directly enjoy the sound of the engine even more. A Sports Package is also available, which features the 911 Turbo Sport Design Package plus additional features in Black and in Carbon, plus Exclusive Design tail lights.
Available to order immediately as a 2021 MY 911, prices for the 992 Turbo Coupe start at £134,000 in the UK.
