Jaguar E-type anniversary
Two of this year’s major events celebrating the 60th anniversary of the E-Type are attracting a great deal of interest – including the Summer Jaguar Festival, set to take place at the superb setting of Blenheim Palace on May 16th. Hosted by the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club in partnership with the Jaguar Drivers’ Club, it’s hoped this spectacular event will match previous years’ figures of around 2000 cars and 6000 visitors. One-day tickets are set to go on sale in February, and you can find out more via www.jec.org.uk/events.
Shortly afterwards comes E-Type 60, organised by the E-Type Club and taking place at the famous Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb over the weekend of June 12/13th. Display cars and plenty of hillclimb action will be complemented by an E-Type Hall of Fame, which will include 9600 HP – Philip Porter’s original Geneva launch press car – as well as other significant survivors.
